Selecting cookware

Microwaves are reflected by metal.
They pass through glass, porcelain,
plastic and cardboard.
They are absorbed by food.
Non-microwave safe dishes can
suffer damage or cause damage to
the oven when using the the
Microwave (Solo) and
Combination modes with Microwave.
Risk of Fire!
The material and shape of containers
used affect cooking results and times.
Circular and oval containers work best.
The food will heat more evenly than in a
square container.
Containers suitable for
microwave use
Glassware
Heat-resistant glass or ceramic glass
are ideal for use with microwave power.
Exception: Do not use crystal glass
as it contains lead which can crack
or shatter in a microwave.
Porcelain
Porcelain is a suitable material.
Exception: Do not use porcelain with
gold, silver or cobalt blue edging or
items with hollow knobs or handles,
as insufficient ventilation may cause
a build-up of pressure.
Earthenware
Decorated earthenware is only suitable
if the decoration is beneath an all-over
glaze.
Danger of burning! Wear pot holders
when removing earthenware dishes
from the Speed Oven.
